REFLECT sprang from the REFRESH retreat group, which is for 21-35-year-old singles.
The REFRESH weekend has been held in the Diocese of Lansing,
Michigan, for many years (previously under the name CHOICE). It was started by Fr. Tom Morrow of New York when he realized that young adults had a great desire to belong to others and needed a supportive environment in which to share their thoughts and feelings.

In the same spirit of wanting to create a warm, supportive environment in which to nurture the soul and address the unique challenges of being an older single person, a small group of REFRESH team members and attendees came together to create REFLECT.
The REFLECT retreat was designed to address the
unique issues that older singles faces, and it speaks directly to the
challenges of this phase in a single person's life. The three-day long
retreat is planned by a group of volunteers with much prayer and thought.
Team leaders are past REFLECT participants who grew from their retreat
experience, and wanted to share the opportunity with others through
future retreats.
